Therapy Disciplines
We continue to increase and improve outcomes for our patients by offering a broad spectrum of treatments provided by the highest level of expertise in multiple disciplines. At each of our Senior Living communities we staff skilled and compassionate therapists, 5-7 days a week. We understand communication is vital. We inform the experienced staff on site and are in continual dialogues with our patients and family members. Our goal is to ensure a fluid transition towards independence.
Individualized and Customized Care
Metro is committed to providing one-on-one care for our patients. Each patient is a unique individual and is treated as such. Each of our therapists continually receive dementia training to increase the patient’s experience, engagement and outcome! In an industry where it is becoming standard practices to book multiple patients at once, Metro treats each patient individually with the utmost care, pampering and engagement!
Metro has a diverse and educated team of 400+ therapists ready to provide holistic care for our patients. Our team has expertise in the various disciplines including pain management , vestibular and balance, acupuncture, speech, physical, cognitive-retraining, occupational, aquatic, etc. We continually research treatments and therapies to always provide the most optimal therapy possible.

Occupational Therapy
At Metro, our occupational therapists utilize a natural approach to help the residents achieve and maintain an active lifestyle in their community. By targeting fine motor skills, occupational therapy helps to develop and recover the dexterity needed to handle day-to-day responsibilities. Patients with orthopedic or neurological injuries who have trouble with cognitive or physical tasks can use occupational therapy to regain control of their bodies.
No two cases are the same, nor do we treat them as such. With an occupational therapy evaluation, our experts can determine a solid approach to treatment so you can be on your way to reclaiming confidence.

Speech Therapy
The main goal of our Speech-Language therapist is to improve a patient’s ability to communicate and/or swallow effectively so that they can reduce frustrations and enhance quality of life. The field of Speech-Language Pathology focuses on many more modalities than just speech. The two main domains that fall within the scope of practice are communication and swallowing including speech production, fluency, language, cognition, voice, resonance, feeding, swallowing and hearing. Our therapists can provide LSVT LOUD programs. (Click here to see more about the success of LVST Loud)
Aquatic Therapy
Aquatically trained therapists use the buoyancy of the pool to assist patients in injury rehabilitation, relaxation, fitness, physical rehabilitation and other therapeutic benefits. Aquatic therapy helps patients overcome their muscle, joint, nerve pain. Patients that find it too painful to engage in “on-land” therapy, thrive in aquatic therapy because it greatly reduces the pain. Aquatic rehabilitation allows for swelling control and utilization of hydrostatic pressure to increase sensory output, making it a safe alternative to land-based therapy.
